BATTALIONS, belligerent sludge champions of the UK DIY underground scene, revered by fans worldwide, lauded by the press and hairier than a bucket of black bears have premiered their new video ‘Devil’s Footsteps’, the second single taken from their forthcoming third album Forever Marching Backwards, which will be released via APF Records on November 30th 2018.

Comments vocalist Phil Wilkinson: “We are proud to release our second single ‘Devil’s Footsteps’ from our forthcoming album ‘Forever Marching Backwards’.  This is an all out attack of groove and riff, and featuring our good friend Dave Rowlands of Pist on vocals. Visually, we wanted to go for something a bit different to the first video we released a month or so ago, and brought all the colours in to play! We also chose this as a showcase for the bouncier/riffier side to the album as a contrast to the relentless battering of the single riff of ‘Forever Marching Backwards’. We enjoyed making this one, and we hope you enjoy watching and listening to it just as much!”

Recorded and mixed by Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studios in the UK, the resulting album is a danger-fuelled 30 minutes of Battalions own brand of bleak, swaggering, riff-infused groove metal-meets-harsh-punk sound. To quote the band, this is ‘pure Humber sludge’.

Forever Marching Backwards will be released by APF Records on November 30th. Pre-orders are available here.
