Returning to the scene of their triumphant set at Damnation Festival 2012, Winterfylleth arrived on the back of a new album, a slew of excellent reviews and a packed Terrorizer Stage eager to see one of the brightest (or maybe that should be darkest) lights of the British Back Metal scene.
While short, festival sets may not be the most conducive to a band that mainly plays tunes that are seven minutes plus, they managed to fit four tracks from their short but acclaimed career. Opening with the title track from the new album ‘The Divination of Antiquity’, the Manchester four piece put on an almost flawless performance that definitely held up against any of the sets on the day.
Winterfylleth are one of the best bands the UK has to offer right now, and arguably, one of the best black metal bands we have ever produced. Hopefully, they will return to Damnation again in the future and be higher up the bill, four songs was just not enough.
