Ferocious grinding hardcore is the order on this split 7” from Pennsylvania’s Full Of Hell and Polish bruisers Calm The Fire. Six tracks exclusive to this release by two rising bands, who on this form should be making big strides over the next twelve months.
‘Return To The Mines’ introduces Full Of Hell’s side, which contains four tracks of old school crust influenced fury. Four short bursts of anger, which shows exactly why the band are becoming such a hot property tight now. The bands recent album ‘Rudiments of Mutilation’ featured in many end of year lists and on this form very easy to see why.
Calm The Fire’s tracks slows things down a little, but don’t let up too much. Influenced by both hardcore and classic Swedish death metal, they manage to be chaotic whilst also adding an element of melody. Full of anger and disenchantment, the band rage through the two tracks on here and definitely leave you wanting more.
A short insight into two really good bands. Both bands have a healthy dose of old school influences but manage to create something very relevant. Released as a 7” vinyl late last year, it soon sold out but is still available as a digital download. The whole thing only lasts just under ten minutes, but by the end of it you will be wondering what the hell just hit you.
