Buffalo death metal legends, Cannibal Corpse, rounded off the day at a packed Terrorizer Stage (with a fair amount of people unable to get in) and showed exactly why there was he rush to see the band that have been at the top of their scene for nearly 25 years.

Setting a feverish pace right from the off by playing the first three tracks from classic album ‘The Bleeding’, the band tore through an hour of brutal no nonsense gore that covered the whole of their prestigious career, punctuated by occasional banter from frontman George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher. The vocalist was on fine form vocally, comically and physically, as he challenged the crowd to keep up with him as he windmilled his way through one of the tracks “…you will fail…” he added.

With pits opening up (after demands from Fisher), each rack seemed to draw more and more people into the chaos at the front. Definitely a circle of band feeding off crowd who were feeding off the energy that was obvious in front of them. With three tracks from the recent ‘A Skeletal Domain’ album settling in nicely alongside material from eleven other albums during the nineteen song set, and the band sounding as good as any other I have seen in this venue, there is definitely plenty of life left in this corpse.
