With an already staggering CV under their belt, from festival appearances to a wide span of airplay across the nations radio stations, the hard rocking quartet that is Skarlett Riot has unleashed their second, and more thrilling, EP “Villain” to your eagerly awaiting ears.

With support slots with the likes of L.A. Guns, Taking Dawn and Crashdiet, it is no wonder these four fearless youngsters from Lincolnshire are scoring unrequited attention from not only some of the top magazines such as Classic Rock and Kerrang! But with Fernandes Guitars, the same company who share the home to Journey, Judas Priest and Motorhead, who have now endorsed the band.

With the fiery bass lines and untiringly slavish riffs, these songs are just itching to be played on a grand stage. The viperous vocals from Skarlett are so striking and scorching in ‘Party Hard’ it makes it near impossible not to lavish in this track. The jumpier, abidingly upbeat grove in ‘Read My Lips’ with the seething guitars sound like a grungier and more majestic version of Paramore (as typical as it sounds to relate a female fronted band to Paramore) but who cares, we all love Paramore.

If you like Chasing Dragons and The Dirty Youth right now, you may find you’ll enjoy this little EP, especially the more party fuelled tracks like ‘Take It All’ or the raw, emotional songs such as  ‘Villain’ which capture the creative spark that burns in every member of this band like a lustrous glowing candle.

Remarkably, this band still remains unsigned, even after channelling a lot of interest across the country. But maybe after this neat little collection of tunes, the labels will be swarming like flies to nab this band before the next herds in. The “Villain” EP is available now from all good stores.
