Fozzy – Zippo Encore Stage – Saturday 11:45 – 12:10

It’s so easy for people to dismiss Fozzy because they are fronted by WWE legend Chris Jericho, but when they can draw a crowd of nearly 20,000 people at 11.30 on a Saturday morning on the Zippo Encore stage, the issue of who their frontman becomes somewhat irrelevant, the cynical snarks amongst you could argue he’s the only reason the crowd is there, that may be the case, but he isn’t the reason they are staying.

You see when people go to festivals they want to sing, drink and have a great time, and Fozzy provide a good time, they make unchallenging fists in the air metal that has great sing a longs married with some groove laden riffs, they even manage to work in a world exclusive first play of a brand new song ‘Sandpaper’ from their forthcoming album “Sin and Bones”,

As ever, Chris Jericho proves himself to be a born entertainer, as he leads the crowds into ‘Fozzy’ chants, he even manages to garner a large ‘Y2J’ chant as well, there is something to be said about Fozzy and their work ethic, after years of building a fanbase and playing some truly questionable venues along the way it is nice to see them work their up to a platform of this stature. As far as starts to the day go you could have done a lot worse than partying with the self proclaimed best in the world and his band of merry men.
