Hardcore metal punksters Your Demise have shared a track with us from their eagerly awaited new album “The Kids We Used to Be…”, released through Visible Noise on 20th September 2010. This album is the first with new front man, Ed McRae at the helm after the parting of previous vocalist, George Noble in July 2009.
After eight months of solid touring, Your Demise temporarily took root in Garden Grove, California. A combination of their new surroundings and a new-found sense of unity gave way to a new method of song writing for the band, by taking a more collective approach and encompassing a wider range of influences than previously.
Here’s a snippet from their press release that nicely sums up what the album is about:
“The result is new album The Kids We Used To Be…, an explosion of energy and ideas that sees Your Demise ascending to a higher state. Offering an addictive cocktail of hardcore and metal, punk and pop-punk, pop and rock, The Kids We Used To Be… is as hard-hitting as it is uplifting, as contemplative as it is in your face and as accessible as it is downright nasty.”
‘Miles Away’ is a no nonsense track, complete with the pounding drums and vicious guitar riffs we’ve come to know and love from Your Demise and with Ed McRae’s new vocals there is a new found ferocity to the overall sound. If this is a taste of what is to come from“The Kids We Used to Be…” then it’s going to be one hell of an album!
Your Demise are currently touring across the US supporting The Devil Wear Prada, and will be celebrating their album release on the Imperial Never Say Die Tour alongside Parkway Drive, Comeback Kid and more.
