Last night saw the return home of Leicester band Kasabian, the opening night of a three night run at the prestigious De Montfort Hall. I saw them a t the same venue nearly three years ago and were blown away by that performance but lasts nights show was even better!
Last time I was lucky enough to get a standing ticket and got an awesome view of the whole show but this time I was sitting in the gods in the upper circle. It was still a great view and I didn’t miss a thing. My photos aren’t the best but hopefully give a flavour of the show!
All of the favourites were there – Processed Beats, Empire, Shoot the Runner, Doberman, L.S.F., Reason is Treason, Sun Rise Light Fires, Cutt Off, By My Side, Me Plus One along with tracks from the new album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum – Fire, Underdog, Vlad the Impaler…
Again, there were the chants of Blue Army and Leicestershire LA LA LA, which were greeted with smiles and victory salutes from Tom. On many occasions throughout the show Tom seemed genuinely moved when the crowd sang the lyrics as loud as they could.
All in all it was a great show, a great band and I feel privileged to have been there again to see them, I only wish now that I had got tickets for the other two shows!
